About me

I grew up on a farm in North East Scotland surrounded by animals from an early age. I have early memories of feeding orphan lambs in the kitchen, and feeding calves as soon as I was big enough to carry a bucket.

When I was 6 years old, I  persuaded my parents to buy me a pony, and have been riding ever since.

When I graduated in Engineering, I gave up farm life and moved to the South of England, working as an Engineer in  the Petrochemical Industry.

I have been very fortunate to be able to live in  the New Forest Area of Hampshire, where my equestrian pursuits have continued and blossomed. I have been Eventing competitively since 1995 and have brought a variety of young horses through to Intermediate level.

My most recent successes have come with my two homebred horses - The Minstrel III and Old Speckled Hen II. I bred these from an ex-racehorse mare which I competed to intermediate level eventing and National Championships team chasing.

Over the years, in my efforts to manage the performance of my own horses I used many different practitioners to help me. Through these experiences it became clear to me that  Equine Bowen Therapy was the most effective way of keeping a horse sound and performing at optimum levels throughout their  life. The results I observed on my own horse's were so impressive  I set about learning the technique.

Before learning Equine Bowen, you have to learn and qualify in  Bowen for people. I very quickly became aware of how much difference I was able to make to people in such a short space of time.

I have a real passion for understanding how things work. The complexity of both human and equine bodies fascinates me.

Through Bowen, I have discovered a way in which I can make a positive difference to people and horses lives. If I find a better way, I'll let you know.

Wih my additional background in Neuro Linguistic Programming, people skills and horse training, I am able to offer a broader prospective on performance issues.
